Learning the iPad: Task #2

Click on the image to make it larger, and work your way through the iPad tasks until you feel comfortable with each one. Afterwards, test yourself using the assessment at the bottom and determine if you're ready to move on to the next task.

Task #2 Assessment

Take a few moments to fill out this checklist. If there are things on it that you still do not feel confident about, turn back and redo those steps until you are confident in your understanding. If you need extra practice, or would like clarification of any terms used, here are some websites to reference:

Onondaga County Public Library (http://www.onlib.org) – The website for the county library system, with video tutorials on how to download books and audios through OverDrive.

OCPL OverDrive (http://onlib.lib.overdrive.com) – Onondaga County Public Library’s OverDrive site, where you can find help downloading library items to a variety of devices, as well as e-mail tech support.

Task #2 Checklist

I have learned and understand how to:

  • Locate and download an app, including how to search for an app in the App Store.

  • Create a mobile bookmark, including bookmarks within Safari and within OverDrive for library preferences.

  • Search for and download digital books and audios for loan from the library, place items in my wishlist, and place items on hold.
